He is one of the more enjoyable drummers on YouTube to watch because it seems like every time he's playing he has a huge smile on his face and he seems like he's really having a blast. So I decided to take it upon myself to interview him and find out what makes him so happy behind the set.
We sat down and talked, and before I knew it, almost two hours had passed. I thought maybe we could get a good hour's worth of conversation but time just flew right on by as I got to know Mike's personal life, where he's from and what he does for a living. I found out he's a family man who took a hiatus from the drums in order to care for his children...and during the 90s music boom no less. That's dedication!
We also talked about his drum background of course, as well as why he plays an electronic kit as opposed to acoustic drums. We opined on the culture and life of the hobbyist YouTube drummer and he has some very interesting angles and perspectives.
