Although "Complicated" may not fall into the pop-punk genre, Avril Lavigne is arguably one of the co-founders of female pop-punk—and don't worry, "Sk8er Boi" is coming soon LOL. I don't hate this song, actually. In fact, I never even really gave Avril a deep listening to...TBH I still haven't but since I've been into this whole pop-punk thing lately, I've learned both her hits from this pretty interesting album, which was her first, while she was still a teenager. So, no matter what you think of the lyrics and content matter and poppiness of her tunes, she's done some impressive things and her resume speaks for itself.
I tried looking to see who the original drummer was but couldn't find that info. If anyone knows, please let me know in the comments! I know Josh Freese did most of the drumming on that album, but he doesn't get credit for this particular song.
