I first heard of The Phoenix Foundation on the soundtrack of Taika Waititi's first major film, "Eagle vs. Shark," and I instantly fell in love. Then they were featured again in Waititi's hit film, "Boi," and "Flock of Hearts" was in that movie. That song and that movie were my favorites for a long time.
I had delusions of grandeur when I first decided to cover this one. I was ready to do an all-instrument cover, guitars, keys, and all. I was able to learn the acoustic and electric rhythm guitars but that lead is above my pay grade. I didn't even get to the keys because there's really no use. The track separator app, Moises, currently doesn't separate keys and guitar sounds and since I need the guitar track—which includes the keyboards—there was no reason for me to overdub the keys.
Anyhow, I still was able to lay down drums, bass, and vocals, my favorite instruments anyway! I really hope you enjoy my performance and this song. Let me know if you've heard it or of The Phoenix Foundation before in the comments!
