No metal drummer can groove like the late, great Vinnie Paul. It amazes me how much groove he actually has. He has more groove than a lot of non-metal drummers IMO. Even this song, "I'm Broken" has a pretty sick groove to it that makes it not only interesting but easy to bob your head to. And the 7/8 verses add to the funkiness of the song.
It's such a shame the music world lost him and his brother. I'm not the biggest metal head around, but these guys just knew how to make great music that transcended their genre. They and Metallica were the reasons I got into metal in the first place. Vinnie, you are sorely missed. RIP.
