About a year ago, I tried listening to a curated Apple Music playlist of faith and worship songs and this song was on that playlist. I remember not being too inspired or impressed with any of the songs, but then this one played again recently and I took a liking to it. I don't know anything about this artist other than he was on American Idol at some point. I'm not a huge fan of his voice although it is totally evident he can sing. But I like the groove of the song and I wanted to add my personal touch to it. So I recorded it as I imagine I would as a studio drummer hired to lay down a drum track.
