The first real band I was ever in was a punk band called "Blindsided" way back in c. 1995 while I was still in high school. We continued playing shows and recording in the studio off and on and with various members until around 2004. During that time, we were in serious record deal negotiations with Epitaph Records. While negotiating, we recorded a full-length album that was to be released on Epitaph. But then the deal fell through and we never ended up releasing the album anywhere.
So, for almost 20 years, it's been dormant and just sitting in the ether. That is, until recently. I got a call from the founder and lead guitarist of the band, Michelangelo Trujillo, who told me that he has been meeting weekly with our singer/songwriter/guitarist Casey Lynch about finally putting this record out ourselves in the very near future.
We may even record a cover song to add to the album, and then who knows what? It's probably unlikely, but there is a small chance we might need to play a show here or there. That means, I need to really shake the rust off these tunes and get them to a place they were before...and maybe even better.
So, this is my first attempt at playing these songs, many of them for the first time since we recorded them way back in c. 2003. Technically, it's my second attempt. I played through the album once, then decided, you know what? I'm going to document this. I'll record it in all its raw and error-filled goodness, and put it out there for all to see LOL, in the hopes that I can get these songs to a place where they sound better than ever.
