If you don't know by now, I have been forming a pop-punk cover band with some really awesome players here in suburban Philadelphia. You wanna know how suburban? We have a spreadsheet for the songs we want to add to our potential set list LOL!
And TBH, the more songs that get added to the list, the more I realize I am not as versed in pop punk as I thought I was! But this is a good thing because I get to do songs like this one, which I heard before way back in the day but never really added to my personal catalog, you know?
Anyway, "Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard is a great pop-punk song...in fact, it's a great song, period. Very energetic yet has that subtle melancholy feel that makes a song timeless, IMO. The drums are fantastic and super fun to play. I added a little of my own personal flair to them. I hope you like it.
I also decided, against my better judgment, to sing this one. My throat is now paying for it, but I think it came out okay. Let me know what you think in the comments!!!
