Welcome to another year of Punk Week! Can you believe it's been a year since I last put out a week's worth of amazing punk drum covers? Time flies at the speed of blast beats!
Last year, I kind of just picked songs I liked and decided to do a week's worth of covers. This year, I am trying to challenge myself a little more by doing punk songs I love, but also songs that I am uncomfortable playing or are more difficult than just your average punk song.
But I'm also doing songs I probably should have done in the inaugural Punk Week, like this song. Day 1 features none other than NOFX and probably their most popular song, "Linoleum" from their album Punk in Drublic. Nothing special, just a great signature NOFX blast beat. And for my generation, this was as signature a punk song as you could get.
Now, of course, we can argue on what bands and/or songs are more punk than others, but there's no debating the punk status of NOFX, and as this was one of their "hits" there's not much any punk fan can argue with regard to its punk status LOL.
