Welcome to the Third-Annual PUNK WEEK event where YouTube drummers across the world participate in creating Punk Rock Drum Covers and posting them for a moshing, head-banging, anti-establishment week in January!
This is Day 5 featuring "I Don't Wanna Hear It" by Minor Threat. I remember listening to these guys a lot. I wasn't a particularly angry kid but I was able to harness some angst by observing the world and all the assholes in it. My parents, although they separated when I was around 6, were great parents. I had a wonderful family life and grew up eating whatever I wanted. So, no abuse, no hunger, no real issues at all.
But something about punk music just captured my spirit. It altered my attention from my bubble outward to what was going on in the world.
Minor Threat was one of the bands that let me know it was cool not to do drugs or drink. Even though I did both, I never took it too far like most of my friends did...and I have Minor Threat to partially thank for that.
In any case, I hope you enjoy my little cover of this banger!
