So...I haven't seen anyone really mourning the passing of Coolio like many of the other celebrities who have died recently. And if you know me, I never post anything on social or even here on YouTube when someone dies. I didn't do a tribute to Neil Peart or Taylor Hawkins...I'm just not the type of person to do that.
But, when a celebrity death doesn't get noticed--especially one as vocal against human/sex trafficking, rape, and pedophilia as Coolio was--I tend to wonder why that is?
Anyway, he had a couple of songs I thought were cool(io), and "Fantastic Voyage" is one of them. I know I probably should have led with a warning about how graphic the language is in the lyrics, but the groove of the song is so good, especially his sampling of Lakeside's song of the same name. He slowed the sample down and I think it feels better at this tempo, and it works perfectly with the rest of the song.
