Jimmie's Chicken Shack was best known for their one hit, "Do Right" in the late 90s, but this song, "Waiting," and in fact, pretty much the whole album, "Bring Your Own Stereo" is quite amazing. It was mixed by the great Tom Lord Alge and man is the sound just so dynamic and powerful.
I originally wanted to cover the last song on the album, "30 Days" (my favorite) but then I listened to the whole thing and this song just stuck out for some reason. Maybe it's the waltzy 6/8 feel or the drop-D guitars, or the powerful but melancholy vocals. Whatever it is, I'm glad I covered this one. It is fun to play and the emotion of the tune is high.
