New video alert! Yes, that's right! I have a new video. Like brand spanking new. And not a remix of an old video or a video of me giving the same update all over again.
No! I actually released a video with some drum substance and new content!
And to top it off, it's a lesson. Yes, this whole thing with the flood has made me dive into the teaching aspect of the YouTube drum community.
But, these lessons are not the prototypical lessons. You can get those anywhere on YouTube. My lessons are more about what works for me and how I figured out these things over the decades. My hope is that by describing how I found my methods, it will open players' mind's up to new ideas and let them know that there is no one right way to do things.
If what you want to do is become better at playing the drums, then never stop learning and never stop experimenting.
So check out my very first lesson below! I dive into all the different stick grips and what to do when you get a good feel for each grip. I also talk about groove and style. And with my handy and versatile practice pad, I show a couple of modest examples of how the different grips look while playing.
Let me know what you think! Leave a comment in the comments section, tell your friends, share the video if you think it's worth sharing, and if you haven't already, please consider subscribing to my channel.
